S tih prostora prognani su nesrbi, pet godina čekali su oslobađanje i povratak u svoje razorene domove.

Hrvatski narod uspio se obraniti i osloboditi svoj okupirani teritorij.

To Vam je sve dobro poznato. Znate i da se Međunarodna zajednica pozvala utvrđivati počinjene ratne zločine. Vi ste imali značajnu ulogu u tim procesima.

Mrs. Carla Del Ponte

NGO Women in Homeland War has been actively collecting testimonies about their own experiences during the Homeland war. These testimonies are then being published by our organization.

Croatian women reacted to war threats by Serbia and Yugoslav army by a number of peace initiatives. With their plea „Stop aggression on Croatia“they had paid visits to major world political centers and political leaders.

They could not stop the war; it started in 1991 by attack on Croatia. A threatening aggression, killings and occupation of Croatian territories followed. Non Serbian citizens were expelled; they had to wait for five years to be able to return to their devastated homes.

Croatian people succeeded in defending and freeing its occupied territory.

You must have been well aware of it. You were also aware that the international community had been called upon to resolve the committed war crimes. You had an important role in that process.

Your recollections of those processes are being promoted in Croatia these days. You had the power to search for the perpetrators; you had the power to summon them to justice so as to demonstrate the fact that perpetrators must be punished.

Recollections that we are sending to you are the recollections of the committed crimes against Croatian people. Those are recollections of destruction of Dubrovnik, Zadar, Sisak, Osijek and Petrinja, the town from where all the Croatians were expelled and those who stayed were brutally killed. These testimonies are personal but are true. How many of those perpetrators you had brought to court? We leave to your own judgment and consciousness whether you were led by justice, politics or power or whether by powerless Croatian people.

The testimonies we have collected will remain as national memory to be carried on by generations.

The path to truth is not in power, it is God's will.

Marija Slišković, president.
